Huckleberry Farm - Cross Stitch Chart

I am stitching this absolutely gorgeous sampler right now, loving it even if I slightly regret going with my plain pale blue linen rather than the called for over-dyed fabric but my linen is a beautiful blue. As stitchers we ought to have the courage to follow our desires and create the what is in our hearts not slavishly follow what is laid down. So to the sampler, this isn't a beginners project as there are a large number of colours plus a big border of fine branches, numerous small leaves and lots of clusters of small berries in several colours not even repeated. This is wandering round three sides. But for the experienced stitcher this is a wonderful challenge and deeply rewarding. You have five bears in several sizes and different shapes lounging about, a gorgeous chalet house and two fabulous alphabets. Who doesn't adore an alphabet and two even better. This is a sampler to gladden the most jaded stitcher's heart. I am not the quickest stitcher in the world because I am dyslexic so I have to check then re-check my stitching and I am a martyr to frogging but do I let it get me down no I do not! I'm loving this sampler and saving the second alphabet having done the incredible butterfly who looks not unlike our English Swallowtails. Loved stitching her. The thrush next to her was a delight and as I have gone with a flower thread to stitch this sampler so it has been huge fun colour matching studying pictures of thrushes plus my trusty colour charts. All stitching should be about enjoyment and this is enjoyment with knobs on. I will be quite sad when it is finished but very pleased with myself when I get it framed and up on the wall.
